Analogy for the House of Swords
Updated: Oct 20, 2022

It's Friday morning and you do things as usual, take your 4 glasses of water as soon as you are up, then you shower, and when it's time to relax for an hour before going to work, you remember you had to give a long presentation at work and you had to be there early. With the Ace, you choose to halt your routine and go straight to you workplace, as it is the logical thing to do, knowing you need to be there early yet you still are on time. With deuces comes the second thinking, "I didn't brush my teeth, nor had time to go to the restroom, forgot to feed the cat", so you solve what can be solved, call your neighbor and ask her to feed the cat, and keep on track to work. At three your neighbor doesn't answer and you feel terrible that your cat will have to skip a meal because of your incompetence, how between you, your boss and your cat, it was your cat the one that got the smallest straw today. On four you settle your mind, set your priorities for the moment, isolated in your mind, you pray that your cat won't be too mad at you when you get back home. On five you receive a call, your co-worker is asking where you are, and telling you the conference was going to start early, and she had told you so (which she did not), you fall on distress, feel betrayed and left behind, and rush to your work. On six you arrive to work, start climbing the stairs, trying to relax and hoping you are still somehow on time, you rehearse on your mind what you are going to say and regain confidence. With seven you arrive at the floor, everything is about to start, you see your rival co-worker left her notes unattended, and in an act of treachery you shuffle them and take a few out of the stack and toss them in the trash. With eight, well you are giving the presentation, you have to speak for about ninety minutes, but as soon as you start, you realize you are in deep trouble, by taking that minute to shuffle your co-worker's notes, you forgot to go to the restroom and let go those 4 glasses of water you drank earlier. You start talking and saying what you have to say, minute by minute, the stress grows, for you know this is an important event, and you know you really have to go, you have built your own trap. On nine, your nightmare, you are twitching in front of everyone here, on ten you are about to lose control of the situation, you can't afford to make a scene here, you will have to excuse yourself, so you do, and as you run to the toilet you listen how your co-worker takes the spotlight, makes a joke at your expense, and takes your time to shine. Your boss seems to be disappointed at you, and you can see in his face you had just crossed a line.
Sword court cards as parts of self:
Page could be that moment when you chose to halt your routine and go straight to work, when you chose to seize the moment. Knight would be when you are rushing to work, making sure to go as fast as possible without risking getting pulled over by a cop for speeding or passing a red light. Queen could be that cold moment when you choose to give back your misfortune to your co-worker by playing that trick on her. King would be
Sword court cards as others:
Page would be your cat, waiting for the food, and then solving her problem easily by resorting to the dog's food-plate. Knight would be you, acting based on your logic of the present moment, determined, quick and trying not to second think anything. Queen would be that co-worker, making your opportunities scarce, planning your misfortune, cold-headed, cold-hearted, aloof and empty. King would be your boss, giving the promotion to your co-worker based on the fact that you were unable to deliver.
